European Royalty #2 - London 1978

The second in our European Royalty Series : London 78. After winning in Rome the previous year the reds got the taste for European glory.

Unfortunately Liverpool finished runners up in the league that season to Nottingham Forest, however the season was not over.

The mighty reds took on Brugge in the final just down the road in Liverpool's second home, Wembley.

A tight affair ended 1-0 in favour of Liverpool with King Kenny netting the only goal with a beautiful dink over the on rushing Jensen.

Liverpool held out to become back to back European champions.

Liverpool had now cemented themselves as one of the most feared teams across the continent and it was not going to end here....
